UPDATE: Local council elections 2010: Will poorer than expected national showing by the Lib Dems translate into local elections?

Twitter reports that the Lib Dems have lost overall control of Liverpool to Labour. However, the Lib Dems were never expected to do well here so probably not fair to extract a national trend away from the Lib Dems from this. It will be more interesting to see how the Lib Dems do in target seats – such as Waltham Forest. This was another result that Andy called in his “councils most likely to change control” blog.
