Yesterday, Andy Sawford wrote his predictions for ‘50 councils to watch‘ in today’s elections. The map below provides a quick visualisation of where these key battle grounds are. The full image can be found on OpenHeatmap here.

    I must say I’m surprised that North-East Lincolnshire isn’t on the list. Essentially a three-way marginal since the 2010 elections, with 12 Lab, 14 Lib Dem and 15 Con, and covering two marginal parliamentary seats…

    Certainly it would seem a better choice than some of those on this list at present (numerous safe councils; why any interest at all quite frankly?).
